Some-bunny's Counting

This bulletin board is created with a bunny rabbit carrying an easter basket and a collection of brightly colored paper Easter eggs (usually student created). The rabbit has a rhythm written on the basket and the eggs have "ta ta titi ta" and other rhythms written in syllables. I discuss the bulletin board with my classes and then we move the egg and put it in his basket. You could change rhythms on the basket everyday or a couple of times a week, or choose to be lazy like me and leave the same one up all month. :-)

Variations: You could use a bunny and carrots instead of an Easter egg. You could also have the bunny carry the carrot and then have the baskets have the rhythm syllables on it.

You could also use this bulletin board to teach time signatures. Place the time signature on the basket that the rabbit carries and then put rhythms for various meters on the eggs.
