Steps to Perfect Practice Times

This bulletin board gives students some tips for good practice times. I like for students to have something that pertains to them to look at (especially if they are not going to pay attention to whatever I'm saying to them in class). I've discovered that this is a great bulletin board to have up during parent-teacher conferences or during the time that your music dealer brings their instrument display for beginning band students. Some parents refer to the board when coaxing their children to practice! :-)

Trace footprints or print funky shoes from a program like Print Shop. On each show write some of thes tips:

-Prepare your space for practice.

-Set goals for each practice time.

-Use a timer to make sure you get enough practice time.

-Don't practice mistakes! Slow down and get it right.

-Review a little at each practice time.
