Rap it, Clap it, Music Match it is an activity that
challenges students to say the name of the picture on 12
thematic cards, clap it to discover the number of
syllables it has and then match it to notes that represent
those syllables. Notes included are quarter note and
barred eighth notes.
Included in each Rap It, Clap
It, Music Match It download is a sheet of directions
suitable for using in a center or workstation, 3
syllable/rhythm pattern pile guides, 12 cards (6 to a
sheet), a recording worksheet that asks students to circle
the rhythm they hear and a second worksheet that asks
students to write down their answer under the correct
number of syllables/rhythm pattern.
Although great
consideration has been given to the varying ways that the
pictures may be pronounced in various areas of the world,
you may find instances where a three syllabled word is
listed as "ta titi" (quarter barred eighths) when you would
say it as "titi ta" (barred eighths quarter note). For
this and other differences in pronunciation, an answer key
for the worksheets has not been included. I think you will

Amahl and the Night Visitors Viewing Guide and
Activity Pack $7.99 |
Exit Tickets for Music Class-Peter and the Wolf
$3.00 |
Amahl and the Night Visitors is an opera by Gian Carlo
Menotti. This story is great for students of all ages and

activities span a large age range. This kit includes:

the story rather than musical components (like duets,
recitative, etc...). 2. Viewing guide for lower grades
(draw the scenes). NOTE: The viewing guides were
designed for use with this version:
Menotti - Amahl and the Night Visitors [VHS] but are
general enough that they would work with other versions as
well. 3. Color sheet with a brief description of the
opera. 4. Amahl and me venn diagram. 5. Writing
prompt for upper grades. 6. Writing/drawing prompt for
lower grades. 7. About Amahl and the Night Visitors
reading passage with questions (upper grades) with answer
key.
I use this opera 2nd grade through 8th grade
in December or January, but it can be used at any time of
the year.
